Today’s WORD SURGE is, gather as one—to assemble with one purpose and one mind (Carolyn Marlowe).
What happens when Christians Gather with one purpose and one mind?Gather in Jesus’ Name withone purpose and one mind. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus said, “Gather in MyName and I will be in your midst.”In the Kingdom ofGod,location doesn’t separate or distance us.Whether online or in-person (I like best) when Jesus is the central focus, hearts supernaturally become one. Not to forsake assembly. . . Wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps His promises! Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together. . .In fact, we should come together more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward (Hebrews 10:23-25 TPT).
Wherever you are coming together with other Believers, it doesn’t matter where you assemble. It matters why you assemble. Come together “In Jesus’ Name.” He will sit in your midst. Buildings, surroundings, or geographical locations hold no weight when you gather. Gathering In His Name is the criteria for the assembly.
When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up (1 Corinthians 14:26).
Assembling with other Believes is all about our experiencing a true functioning body of Believers where Jesus is the center and the reason to gather. Gather “In Jesus Name.” Our concept is to gather in a building. . .do a little praise and worship. . .focus on a Pastor and his message. There are times for teaching and preaching. But, the body needs opportunities to function as a church and use our gifts to edify others.
So, gather in His Jesus Name and find out what happens, like my friends and I did recently. We took beach chairs and sat at the lake to enjoy life together. We prayed together and shared some of our stories. God met us as we gathered, and Jesus was our focus. We experienced church life. And it was powerful. And, another group gathered for instructions on altar ministry at our church. Into the teaching, we started praying for one another and we ministered to one another for over an hour. We experienced church life again and encouraged one another and urged each other onward.
I encourage you to come together in some way to keep in contact and be involved in His Body. Our coming together helps equip us to excel in our personal spiritual growth and to edify other Believers to grow in Christ.
What about you, my friend? How are you gathering as one, with one mind and purpose?
