Today’s Tasting: Matthew 19; Mark 10
Today our chapters start with divorce & celibacy. Jesus tells them the only reason to divorce a wife is due to adultery. He quotes the scripture regarding the two becoming one, and let no man separate what God has brought together. He also made it clear if they divorced for any other reason to remarry, it would be the same as committing adultery.
Then, Jesus starts the counsel of the Rich Young Ruler. He tells him to go and give away his riches to follow him, as he would then have his treasure in heaven. Jesus tells the disciples it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for him to enter into heaven. The eye of a needle is actually a very low door where a person must stoop almost to the ground to access, making it impossible for a camel to access.
Our final section here today, Jesus tells us ALL things are possible for those who believe in him.
Today’s Nourishment: I want us to focus on Matthew 19:26:
“But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible.”
How many times have we faced things in our lives that seemed impossible to conquer or overcome? In facing some difficult trials with back issues, I am believing that with God, ALL things are possible.” The next time you face a trial, challenge, or hit an obstacle, grab your Bible and read this verse to yourself, stating God’s promise to remember His powerful Word: “With God ALL things are possible!”
Do you believe that for your life?
