Sunday’s Sabbath:
It’s Sunday’s Sabbath-the day I choose as my Sabbath! Sabbath is not about worship in a building or about a day of worship, but about the One we choose to worship. We were created for worship–we will worship something or someone.
Dan Allendar in Sabbath states, “The Sabbath is a day when we enter a dance with God and others and experience a beauty that takes our breath away.”
Shabbat (Sabbath) has a three-fold meaning:
- Be Still
- Reflect
- Celebrate
All three are characteristics of true Sabbath. Be still, Reflect, and Celebrate with other believers:
- Be still and wait on Him to recognize that He is God (Psalm 46:10).
- Reflect and hear Him speak through the beauty of His creation, the creativity within you and your surroundings, the people who surround you, and the food (physical sustenance) for the day. Reflect: What has He done for you this past week? Who has He been to you this past week? Names of God reflect his character…
- Celebrate and breathe (relax) for His Spirit to fill you to live the Christ-life.
How will you dance with God and others on the day you choose for Sabbath?
