Speaking Life

March 1, 2013 by Carolyn Marlowe Leave a Comment

Day Sixty: March 1 – Today’s Tasting: Numbers 6, 10: Aaron and his sons blessed Israel with these special words from the Lord, “May the Lord bless you and protect you; May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace. Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

The priests also blew trumpets with certain sounds to communicate different messages. The blast of the trumpets spoke special messages from the Lord and declared special ceremonies, days, and events for Israel.

Some words shouted by Moses, as Israel started a journey from Sinai: “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”

Today’s Nourishment: Moses spoke certain words to communicate with the Lord and to declare instructions for Israel. The priests spoke certain words and blew trumpets blasting certain sounds to communicate with Israel. The words we speak and the messages we communicate encourage or discourage those around us. What might the words we speak and the (trumpets we blow) things we speak communicate to those around us?

Our words: Thinking pessimistic thoughts produce pessimistic words that produce pessimistic behavior. Change your thinking to change your speaking to change your behavior. Change, “I can’t” to “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Change “I won’t” to “I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Speak words of blessings and communicate life to those around you.

What might you speak to bless those around you?
