Zechariah had multiple visions of details for the Temple’s completion. How will they complete the temple, with so much to do and so little resources and monies.
God answers this question clearly:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts (Zechariah 4:6 ESV).
Another promise of “your King is coming to you, righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey…he shall speak peace to the nations” (Zechariah 9:9-10 ESV).
The priesthood took on similar overtones as a king. In every kingdom, a king reigns. Jesus Christ will soon set up His kingdom, but not in the way many Jews expect. He will ensue to set up a spiritual kingdom by His Spirit.
Today’s Nourishment: As we draw near the end of the Old Testament’s reading and blogging to feast on the New Testament, I am reminded that we may not accomplish the blog or writing devotionals in our own might or power. We may complete the year of blogging to Esteem Christ and Encourage Women of God by His Holy Spirit.
In fact, anything we set out to do, must be accomplished by His Spirit.
He spoke peace to his disciples and assured us that we would live with His peace, not as the world gives, but as He gives peace (see John 14: 27).
Lord, I pray that we not continue in our own power or might, but by your Spirit. Fill us with your Spirit and empower us for “Esteeming Christ and Encouraging Women of God.” As we read each scripture passage, let us hear what you are saying to us today. Praise You, Lord. We can’t do this without you! We receive your peace to complete this year of the blog. I pray that we live in and with your peace in all circumstances of our lives.
In everything we set out to accomplish for your kingdom, may it be accomplished by your Spirit and with your peace, not in our own power or strength.
