Seasons of Life: Enjoying the season you are in now prepares you for the next season.
As I swept more leaves and seeds from my sun-room entrance, deck, patio, and porches, it seems the Spirit said, “Don’t rush for the next season. Enjoy the Fall Season’s abundance. Enjoy the Harvest for a little longer. It will prepare you for the Winter Season, a time to rest and grow deeper.” What a way to enjoy the seasons of life!
Isn’t the power of the Holy Spirit amazing? I love how God can speak to us no matter what we are going through!
When we miss out on the present season of life, we miss what the Lord wants to do in our lives NOW. Are we anticipating what’s next? Not enjoying what’s now?
How to Refuse to Miss Out on Your Life Season Now
Commerce, the world, and different personality types push on us to move ahead and enter beyond the now, the next, the what’s out there. Intentionally, set your mind to focus on your surroundings, to relax, and to enjoy today. Take in the beauty and colors of the season you are in now. Surround yourself with the sounds of the season. Listen as Jesus whispers, “Today, rest in me and watch me work in your life.”
1. Wait to Enjoy
Stop and take a deep breath. Refrain not breathing in how God is working presently. We are usually working and anticipating what’s next, which may camouflage the Father’s present work in our lives. We usually take control, while the Spirit is saying, “If you wait, I will work. But, if you want to go ahead, I’ll wait.”
2. Enjoy His Spirit Now
May you not to rush into the next seasons of life prematurely. You will miss out on the present season’s abundance.
In the Old Testament, the Spirit rested on people for short periods of time. The Spirit rested on Jesus to remain at His baptism. He is here to remain on and with you, also.
Ask the Spirit to settle and rest you in this season. Make every effort not rush for the next season. His Presence is with you to enjoy now. If you attempt to push for the next season despite enjoying the present season, such pushing may quench His Spirit. Take a few deep breaths, settle your mind and body for this season of life, and enjoy God at work in you now.
