Today’s Tasting: Romans 8-10
Romans 8: Paul opens up this letter by talking about life in the Spirit. He reminds us that God sacrificed His only Son so that we can live. Through this sacrifice we are no longer bound by sin and the law, but we can live by the Spirit as long as He lives in us. The things that we experience here on this earth are nothing compared to the glory that will be shown when He comes back. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses and intercedes for us. His final reminder is that nothing can ever separate us from the love of God. His love is everlasting!
Romans 9: Paul is hurting for the people of Israel. God picked them to be His chosen people but they abandoned God. They tried to keep the law instead of trusting God. The promise children came through Abraham’s son Isaac even though he had other children. It is God who chooses on whom He will show mercy. It is not for us to decide. He has a purpose for every person He creates.
Romans 10: Paul wanted Israel to be saved. He told them that people have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. They are just trying to do right their own way instead of following God’s way. Salvation is for everyone. The Jews and Gentiles alike. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him up from the dead then you shall be saved. How beautiful are the feet of messengers who tell the Good News!
Today’s Nourishment: We no longer have to live under the Law of Moses and bring animal sacrifices for the price of our sins. God sent His Son Jesus to do that for us. His sacrifice on the cross allowed us to be able to live by the Spirit and the Spirit to live in us. We are the chosen people of God. His love saved us from dying in our sin. Salvation is available for anyone who believes in God. Salvation is available for anyone who believes that Jesus was born of a virgin, died and was rose again. Salvation is for anyone who believes that Jesus is coming back again for His people. Salvation is free because Jesus paid the price! If you need to accept Jesus as your Saviour please say the prayer below:
Father, I confess today that Jesus is Lord. I believe He was born of a virgin, that he died and God raised Him from the dead. I believe that He is coming back for His people. I want to be saved from my sins and I believe that Jesus is the only way that can save me. Lord come into my life right now. In Jesus’ name, amen.
