Day Fifty-one: February 20 – Today’s Tasting – Leviticus 12-14:32: Guilt lies only skin deep, while conviction rests deep within the human heart. Following a skin infection, the infected people washed their clothes, immersed themselves in a ceremonial bath, shaved their body, and offered a guilt offering. The priests declared, “You are clean, Not Guilty!”
I lived with guilt for too long. When I released myself, others, and some situations, I started living CLEAN of the gnawing thoughts of fear, pressure, and anger. I found that guilt, only appeared skin deep, but gnawed like a debilitating disease.
Today’s Nourishment: How do we recognize the difference in false guilt or true conviction?
Guilt gnaws like a skin infection:
Guilt reflects a self-imposed fear of the past or the future
Guilt applies pressure through thoughts to victimize you
Guilt resonates anger
Guilt reveals an outward sorrow toward oneself
Guilt inflicts abrasions in our lives that lead to distress
Guilt conveys, “I am bad and I need punishment. I do not deserve peace”
Guilt appears as a skin infection and cures when treated correctly
Release thoughts of guilt by:
Releasing yourself of past failures
Releasing engulfing thoughts from future events of what might occur
Release any details you may want to analyze
Release forgiveness toward yourself or anyone who may have disappointed you, injured you, or caused harm to you
Declare, “I am clean, Not Guilty!” Clean of the guilt, fear, and worry that inflicted abrasions, as that of a skin disease. Thought not a quick fix, a continued releasing of the areas listed, will in time, release you from false guilt.
Conviction rises from within the heart. The Holy Spirit came to convince of faults:
He convicts the world of sin—the sin of unbelief in a Savior
He convicts the world of righteousness—right standing with God that belongs to believers
He convicts the world of judgment—the enemy’s defeat and judgment occurred
See John 16:18. If convince of unbelief, of right living or right standing, or of the enemy’s position, acknowledge and live CLEAN – Not Guilty.
Have you lived with guilt or conviction?
