Day Sixty-four – March 6: Today’s Tasting – Numbers 22-24: The success of Israel’s army and their vast number of people terrified the Moabite King, Balak. King Balak offered money and anything he could think of for Balaam, King of another Moabite territory, to curse Israel. Balaam decided that he would be powerless to do anything against Israel. Yet, the Lord spoke to Balaam and said, Go with them, but only do as I tell you.”
Balaam only blesses Israel, “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I condemn those whom the Lord has not condemned – a people set apart from other nations? God has blessed and cannot reverse it! The Spirit of God came upon him and he delivered this message: “Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you.” King Balak flew into a rage against Balaam. Once again, King Balaam reminded King Balak that he would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord. He went on to say that Amelek’s destiny is destruction. The Kenites will be destroyed when Assyria captures them. Cyprus would oppress Assyria and afflict Eber, to completely destroy them. Yet, the Lord’s chosen would live blessed.
Today’s Nourishment: No curse would ever come to fruition against Israel. That which the Lord has decreed may not see reversal. He has blessed those in Christ: “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes,” Ephesians 1:3-4.
The Lord blessed and will not revoke his blessings. We live blessed in Christ.
Praise Him for His blessings!
