January 3 – Tasting of Genesis 7-10/1 Chronicles 1:17-23: The flood and God’s Covenant with Noah occur. Noah’s sons, Japheth, Ham, and Shem had sons with their clan, language, territory, and national identity. All the nations of the earth descended from these clans after the great flood. One of these descendents, Nimrod, lived as the first heroic warrior on earth.
Today’s Nourishment: Lord, I pray that when the floods of life’s situations rise, I will live as a heroic warrior for you on this earth. Will I stand up for you and your name during the times when life s
eems the most difficult? I pray that I will stand for you and your Word. I pray my descendents will live as heroic warriors for you on this earth. Some in the New Testament who stood for you were considered “ignorant and unlearned.” Yet, I know that the beginning of wisdom is the fear (honor and reverence) of the Lord. Those accused of “ignorant and unlearned” honored you in their lives. Honoring you, Lord, is the highest honor for me!
