Today’s Tasting: John 14-17
John 14: Jesus is talking to His disciples and He reminds them that He is the way to the Father. He has prepared a place for them and He is coming back to get them. Philip wants Jesus to show them the Father and Jesus responds by telling him that if you have seen Me then you have seen the Father. Believe in what you have seen. He promises them the Holy Spirit, who will comfort, lead and guide them.
John 15: Jesus is the true vine that we need to be connected to in order produce good fruit. He reminded them that the world hated Him first and it will hate them too. The Comforter is going to come to help them and they are to tell others about Jesus.
John 16: Jesus is preparing them for what will happen in the future. He tells them how the Holy Spirit is going to work in their lives after He leaves. The Holy Spirit is going to reveal truth and bring glory to the Father. Jesus is also preparing them for His crucifixion and resurrection. Their sadness will be turned into joy. He uses the analogy of a woman giving birth. Jesus tells them to ask anything in His name.
John 17: Jesus prayed for His disciples.
Today’s Nourishment: The Holy Spirit continues to avail Himself to us today in order to lead and guide us. He brings all truth and knowledge to us. He guides and comforts us. We may connect to Father and bear good fruit by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit also prunes us for His glory. He tells us the things the Father tells Him and will even tell you when you are wrong and right. He will reveal things to you that is withheld from others. Jesus is coming back for His people and He wants you to be ready. You can give everything about your life to Him right and have a mansion waiting for you in heaven.
The Holy Spirit has worked in my life. He has loved me enough to convict and prune my life of things that I needed to change. And, He helped me change and continues to help me. I pray, Holy Spirit, come!
Father, I thank You for the work of the Holy Spirit! I thank You that You have prepared a place for Your people. Lord, I want to stay connected to You. I want to bear that good fruit that You will be pleased in. I need Your Holy Spirit to guide me each and every day in my life. I cannot do anything without You. Please fill me today with Your Spirit and lead me to all truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
How is the Holy Spirit working in your life today? He’s telling you which way to go and what to do but, you have to listen carefully. Pray, Holy Spirit, come and live the Greater life in me today!
