Today’s Nourishment: As the host of The Bible Feast Blog, I had the privilege to write the first day’s devotional for The Bible Feast Blog, January 1, and I have the privilege to write on the last day of The Bible Feast Blog, December 31—the start and the finish. The assigned days just happened to fall this ways.
A precious group of Jesus loving, Word of God women from across the United States, Washington State to Georgia, started, in Genesis 1 on January 1, taking assigned days to read and write a devotional through the Chronological Bible and to finish with Revelation 22 on December 31. Just as life goes, we have experienced challenges, changes, and some surprises during our feasting on the Bible in one year. The benefits of our efforts have outweighed the challenges. We now have an applicable devotional for every section of the Bible that esteems Christ and encourages believers. The blog started with Jesus and ends with Jesus, who is the First and the Last–the start and the finish.
Jesus said in Revelation that He is the First and the Last. He is the One who breathed life into man in the Garden at the genesis of humans. Now, He, the Spirit of God continues to breathe life. That is who God is and what He does—He is life. He brings life, produces life, and cultivates life to continue Himself, forever.
He is Jesus and He is returning for those who invite Him into their lives for Him to become life. Have you accepted that invitation?
Each time our granddaughter, Emily Kate, leaves Gigi and Poppy”s house to return to her home, she always says that she is coming back soon, maybe two days!
Jesus said that He is coming soon! It may be two day, two years, or two decades. The important thing to remember and encourage yourself with, “Surely I am coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus be with all. Amen” (Revelation 22:20-21 ESV).
That is my prayer for each of us as we end this year to move into a new year. “May the Lord Jesus Christ be the First and the Last to breathe life into you and may His grace be with you all. Amen. For He is coming soon!”
After completing the reading and viewing the video below, please share with us about how the blog has esteemed Christ and encouraged you this year: http://thebiblefeastblog.com
Today’s Tasting: Revelation 19-22
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God…Hallelujah!…Praise our God, all you his servants…for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”—for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints…Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb…These are the true words of God” (see Revelation 19:1-9).
“He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God” (Revelation 19:13 ESV).
