Today’s Tasting Revelation 12-18
As we view these chapters, we continue to see all the vivid imagery of John’s vision. In chapter 12, we see Christ as the male child who was successfully born to defeat Satan and take away the curse of sin and death.
Chapter 13 describes the beasts. They represent Satan’s attempts to persecute the Church through political-religious means.
In 14, the Lamb, Jesus Christ, is standing on Mount Zion with 144.000 that have His name written on their foreheads.
Chapter 15 starts with the preparation of the last 7 vials, the final plagues on the earth and humanity. In heaven, they are singing the song of the Lamb of God—the song of Christ’s redemptive work.
In 16, the last of the vials are poured out.
Chapter 17 covers details of the destruction of religious Babylon. Jesus is again represented as the Lamb, ‘They shall make war with the Lamb.’
In 18, an angel proclaims the fall of Babylon and the Church is called upon to rejoice over her utter destruction.
Today’s Nourishment: With His Blood, “He purchased people from every tribe, language, and nation” (Revelation 5:9). Jesus overcame the world by sacrificing Himself. His supreme act of triumph was accomplished by shedding His own blood (Revelation 12:11).
Jesus’ death as the Lamb of God gained victory over all the cosmic powers in opposition to God. The Lamb of God defeated Satan, sin and the power of the grave. Jesus has won the victory over His and our enemies by sacrificing His Life as the Lamb. Because of this, He is worthy to return as the Lion to rule the nations.
Lord, we say, “HALLELUJAH TO THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN! HE IS KING JESUS! WE WHO ARE HIS CHURCH, WILL LIVE AND REIGN WITH HIM FOREVER ! WORTHY, WORTHY IS HE!!
THANK YOU, JESUS FOR LOVING US THIS MUCH. Thanks you for conquering death, hell, and the grave, and sin. Help me to conquer bad attitudes, anger, jealousy, laziness, and other sin that defeats.
PRAISE YOUR NAME FOREVER AND EVER! AMEN
