Day 87 – March28

March 28, 2015 by Carolyn Marlowe 3 Comments

Today’s Tasting: Joshua 19–21: Today’s reading continues describing the distribution of parcels of land to each of the tribes of Israel for their inheritance. The Lord gives Joshua directions for the Israelites to designate cities of refuge, which He had already previously instructed Joshua through Moses. The cities of refuge were to provide a safe place for Israelites or foreigners to remain if they accidentally killed someone, until they could stand trial.

Joshua 21 details the distribution of the lands of promise to the Levites. Thus the Lord delivered to Israel all the land He had promised to them. He gave them rest on every side and delivered all of their enemies into their hands. Not one of the promises God made to Israel had failed.

Today’s Nourishment: We know that the path the Israelites took to get to this point in their story was very challenging and sometimes they were ready to give up. Despite the miracles along the way they often became discouraged.

Our own personal journeys are similar—sometimes life flows smoothly and other times we are ready to quit. With each hurdle, trial, or challenge we begin to lose heart. We become impatient and forget what God has already promised to us. He promises to never leave us, to always take care of us, and to love us unconditionally.

Renew! Refresh! Rise! You are a child of God!

Just as He delivered on all His promises to the Israelites He will deliver for you. This is a journey of faith and trust in God. Psalm 147:5 tells us “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!”

Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, depend not on your own understanding.”

Beautiful child of God, lean on your Father in heaven, He will deliver for you just as He did for the Israelites. For you are precious in His sight!

Ask God today to give you the strength to stay focused and steady on the journey.

Tomorrow’s Delight: Joshua 22–24

He is truly our deliverer and He is all powerful. Robin, in Ps 147:5 New King James says- His understanding is infinite. I did a study on this some years back and it meant- Limitless, Endless, Boundless, Untiring, Inexhaustible, and Encapable of being used up! Wow then why can’t we keep our focus and trust Him. Father forgive us when we let our minds wander and take our eyes and focus off of You our Redeemer!
