Day 79 – March 20

March 20, 2015 by Carolyn Marlowe 2 Comments

Today’s Tasting: Deuteronomy 28–29: “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God” (28:1-2).

“But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you” (28:15).

Today’s Nourishment: There will always be times in our lives when we need encouragement and feel as if the promises of God are not going to work for us or do not apply to us. At these times we need to remind ourselves that His promises do apply to us all. The promises of God have an “If” and a “Then” built in to help us understand them: If we are … Then we can, or we have, or HE will. We often forget that there are positive and negative results from our choices and actions. God gave us His Word in order to help us make it through dark periods in our lives. When we follow Him and obey what He has told us then we can wait in hopeful expectation because the things He promised will overtake us. On the other hand we can also be sure that consequences will follow wrong actions and decisions or disobedience.

I’m reminded that it is to our benefit and for our future that we focus on God’s path for our lives and that we use the Bible as our roadmap and focus on positive choices that align our lives with the Word. When we fail or make mistakes we can still correct our ways, repent, and get back on track. Be encouraged and surround yourself with people who line up with God’s vision so that hope, joy, encouragement, and blessings can overtake you and cause overflow into the lives of others that may come into contact with you. It is never too late to begin again or start claiming these promises as your own.

Such a great word thanks Sonyita. Do we want to be blessed and have our loving Savior Lord over our lives? Well we’ve got to be obedient in following His commands. They are there for our benefit, protection, and blessings beyond measure. He’s a good and faithful Father who loves us more than we can imagine. Sonyita, I like that yo said its never too late to begin again, it’s the mercy and sweet grace of such an awesome God!!!!!

Yes, it’s never too late to begin again. It seems those times that I feel like I need to begin again is when I fail to “keep company with Christ.” Thank God for His mercy and grace that is always so rich and freeing.
