Today’s Tasting: Deuteronomy 21–23: In Today’s Tasting, God gave the Israelites more specific rules for living. Some of the situations covered included atonement for an unsolved murder, marrying a woman captured in war, the inheritance rights of the firstborn son, and punishment of a rebellious son. The people were given instructions on a myriad of details to do with daily living, such as what to do with straying livestock, prohibitions against sexual immorality, maintaining purity and cleanliness within the camp, laws against ritual prostitution, and more.
Today’s Nourishment: God’s love for us is so very deep that He sets rules and guidelines for us to live by, not to harm us but to protect us. He wants us to know what to do in any situation life brings. He wants us to walk in His way of being right, walking in His righteousness. He wants us to have victory over life’s circumstances. “… No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11b).
He continues to call us to do what is right. He calls us to be holy for He is holy (see Leviticus 20:26 and I Peter 1:16). He commands purity in us and around us because he longs to “move about” in our midst, in our lives, to deliver our enemies to us. Your “camp” which is your life, your home, must be holy “so that He will not see anything indecent and turn away” (see Deuteronomy 23:14).
God’s instructions will always be found by and made clear to those who are seeking His plan, His purpose, and His path. Make time to listen to Him. Sit before Him daily awaiting His instruction. Get into His word and read what He has already given us to do. Then, go forward and obey.
For personal contemplation: Has God already told you to do something to which you have not yet been obedient? Perhaps He is waiting on your obedience before He gives you the next step to take. Be both willing and quick to obey. No matter how difficult the task before you seems, He is right there with you to help you carry out His word to you. Thank Him now for loving you so much and for wanting to be involved in your life. He can and will continue to direct your steps as you diligently seek Him, trust Him, and walk obediently before Him. Be holy for He is holy. Be blessed today.

June, Sometimes the tasks that seem the most difficult are the most rewarding. Let’s stay on the path to which God called us, while living right with the Lord and others. “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Thanks so much for this post that reminds us to stay the course.
Yes thank you June for the reminder. There are times when I need that and this is one of those times. I truly believe He does want us walking in victory. Lets do what is right in His sight and be holy, set apart for Him!
