Today’s Tasting: Jeremiah 46–48: Jeremiah 46 prophecies of the judgment of God upon Egypt. God will strike them through the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. God tells Israel that they are not to fear; He will save them and return their descendants from captivity.
In Jeremiah 47 and 48 God also warns of judgment against the Philistines and the Moabites because of their pride and arrogance toward the Lord.
Today’s Nourishment: Once again we see God’s hand in judgment on those that come against Him or deem themselves higher than God. We know our God is a loving God. However we also need to remember He is a just God, which means at some point God will judge and bring down His mighty hand on those that do wrong and come against Him or His people.
We see a lot of this behavior today in our world—man deeming himself better than or equal to God. We see society choosing to worship the universe (God’s creation) instead of the creator. Many Christians are doing this as well so they can be politically correct. We need to understand that when we choose to please men rather than God, that puts us in a lukewarm position with God. According to the Bible those who are lukewarm or on the fence will be spewed out of His mouth (see Revelation 3:15–16).
It is time for us as Christians to choose if we are for God or against God, and to STAND there, unwavering in the face of popular trends. It will not make us popular and it may ruffle some feathers. However, would you prefer to ruffle feathers in this world or stand before God and explain why you were not for Him?
Christians, it is time to be BOLD and stand for the truth of God’s word—solid and firm, knowing that Christ’s return is SOON and we want to be ready. Are you willing to stand boldly for Christ?
