Today’s Tasting: Amos 1-5
Israel worship of God diminished to a meaningless form of worship. God called Amos to address various nations’ failures to worship the Lord with a true sense of meaning. He also warned them of judgment to come.
“Seek me and live” is the message in chapter five.
Today’s Nourishment: The only true way to live is to “seek the Lord.”
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 ESV).
“Seek the things that are above” (Colossians 3:1 ESV).
I wrote a poem about how to seek the Lord and live:
Lord, in these frazzled days,
I seek you, your presence, and your ways.
To design a full life in Christ, I so long
To live in refreshing is my song
From the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Lord, in these frazzled days,
I seek you, your presence, and your ways,
Releasing my perspective of you
Receiving your distinct and clear view
Of our Loving Heavenly Father.
Lord, in these frazzled days,
I seek you, your presence, and your ways
Ceasing to strive to rely on myself
Gaining your kingdom above all else
By the hands of our Heavenly Father.
Lord, in these frazzled days,
I seek you, your presence, and your ways.
Resting in the beauty of creation, people, food, and arts, I’m astounded
Renewing my strength for my Christ-full living, I’m surrounded
With the presence of our Heavenly Father.
Lord, in these frazzled days,
I seek you, your presence, and your ways.
Living in God-RELIANCE provides righteousness, joy, and peace in me
Keeping company with Christ helps me to live lightly and free
Because of my new view of our Heavenly Father.
What’s your poem of expressing how you may seek the Lord and live?
