Today’s Tasting: 2 Kings 12-13; 2 Chronicles 24
In 2 Kings 12 we see that money to repair the temple was not used to do so, which moves Jehoash into action to get the temple repaired.
In 2 Kings 13 Jehoash steps up to reign over Israel and he pleads with the Lord to restore and not let her be handed over to Syria. The Lord allows Jehoash to reclaim from Syria all they had taken from Israel. We also see here in this chapter the death of Elisha.
Today’s Nourishment:
In today’s reading we see how the swift hand of God responds when we are disobedient. Israel did not have to loose everything to Syria if they would have listened to God.
How many times in our own lives do we ignore what the Lord has told us to do, or do something He has clearly said not to do? This is a serious question to ask ourselves. We are not perfect, and we do make mistakes, however the concern comes when you know something is wrong and you do it anyway.
We are living in times where it is crucial to be seeking God’s direction and following what He shows us. We need to get off the fence and stand on the foundation of Christ willingly and obediently.
Where are you with the Lord today? Are you dangling your feet on the fence? Time to get off the fence, listen to what the Lord is telling/showing you and act on His direction. Are you willing to get off the fence today?
