Solomon continues his words of wisdom about practical morality. Proverbs 22 begins by telling us to “Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold”. It goes on to remind us that those who truly fear the Lord will be rich.
True humility and fear of the Lord
lead to riches, honor, and long life
~ Proverbs 22:4
It tells us how we are to treat people and the things that we shouldn’t do. Getting rich should not be our motivation. We should seek wisdom. We must discipline our children to not envy sinners. Wisdom will take you a long way in life and keep you away from foolish things. We are not to rejoice when our enemies fall. We are not to show favoritism. Laziness will bring poverty.
