For the next seven days, we will learn to wear praise like a coat.
“To give them…the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit (heaviness)” (Isaiah 61:3). Even if I am poured out like a drink offering…I am glad and rejoice with you all…now you be glad and rejoice with me” (see Philippians 2:17-18).
Wear praise like a coat as you change your posture of discouragement to a posture of praise. In your circumstances, whatever they weigh, you make the choice to recognize that the Lord has a plan for you and has your best interest in mind. Trust Him to carry out those plans as you rest in Him and wear praise like a coat.
The garment of praise fits like a coat. God, Himself, lifts the weight of whatever circumstances rest upon your shoulders to change your posture of heaviness to a posture of praise. He removes the dark clouds of heaviness when we can’t see what stands beyond the darkness. A change of posture reveals your perfectly fitted coat of praise. Praise and worship cast off heaviness and darkness. Stand in your coat of praise. Praise Him! Praise may not change your circumstances. Praise redresses your perspective of your circumstances.
When I started thanking the Lord for circumstances in my nurturing years, as a child that weighed too much, the weight of the heaviness started to lift. Now, I truly thank Him for those circumstances because it caused me to learn to trust my Heavenly Father and know Jesus as my Savior, Redeemer, Deliverer, Salvation, Peace, and Joy that no one can remove. Praise Him!
Whatever discouraging circumstances weigh, how will you wear praise like a coat to change your posture of heaviness to a posture of praise?
