Today’s Tasting: Psalms 131, 138-139, 143-145
Psalm 131 teaches us about humility. We are not meant to have the answers to solve all the problems of the world.
Psalm 138 is about thanksgiving. Here, David glorifies God with thanks for all He has done for him.
Psalm 139 reminds us of the greatness of God! He knows all…He is everywhere…He can do anything!
Psalm 143 is a prayer and petition. David is desperate and praying to God for deliverance and guidance.
Psalm 144 celebrates God. No matter the circumstances, God is there for us and blessed are those who follow the Lord.
Psalm 145 is another celebration of God. The Psalmist reminds us how amazing our God is and that one day everyone will join together in praising him.
Today’s Nourishment: The Psalms in today’s reading remind us to go to God whether we are happy, sad, worried, anxious, peaceful…always. Too many times, we only reach out to God when we are troubled and in need. We want God to fix things…or give us guidance about something that troubles us. While God is definitely there to help us through these times, we need to remember to also go to him with thanksgiving and celebration.
When I take the time to just sit and contemplate on all God has done, and continues to do, I am left in utter amazement. I stand in awe of Him that He is the creator of all things…the all-knowing…the one who was willing to sacrifice His only Son so that I could have eternal life! How can anyone not be humbled by this?
I encourage you to try and make some time to just BE…
Summer has arrived for almost all of us…grab a blanket and spend few minutes outside in quiet solitude just taking in the amazement that He is our God.
What are some of the things you do when you want to just BE?

Monica, When I just want to “BE,” I like to sit in my sunroom or outdoor space to watch and listen to the birds. I ponder the beauty of nature and the colors of God’s creation, while thanking the Lord that He provided the colors and splendor in nature. He could have made everything in monotones, but for us, He gave color and variety.
I agree Carolyn…I have lived in the South, up the East Coast, and out West and I am never not amazed at the beauty of God’s creation!!
I too love to sit outdoors when possible or in my sunroom where I have windows all around me and can take in the sounds and yes the beauty of the sunshine and blue sky and the green. He’s an awesome God!
