Today’s Tasting: Psalms 81, 88, 92–93 (NLT): Psalm 81 starts as a hymn of praise to God for delivering the Israelites out of Egypt. Yet they did not remain faithful to God or follow His commands. Psalm 88 is a cry of suffering. The psalmist is crying to God for help. He is despondent and asks, can the dead praise God? Psalms 92 and 93 are joyful songs, praising God for His unfailing love, faithfulness, holiness, and strength. The tone of the writer has shifted from a cry for help to a shout of joy!
Today’s Nourishment: Isn’t it a wonderful feeling to know that even in our disobedience, God is still good? He did not abandon His people even when they abandoned Him. He had mercy on their cry for help just like He does for us today. He will turn our mourning into joy! Start thanking God right now for His goodness and His mercy. No matter how badly you think you have messed up, it will never be bad enough for God to turn His back on you. He loves you with an everlasting love!
What would become of us if God treated us like we treat Him? Where would we be? Can you remember a time when you turned away from God and yet looking back to that time you can see that He still kept you? Share that testimony with someone so that they too can be encouraged.
Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness toward me even when I am not faithful to you. I thank You, Lord that You do not change. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever more! I thank You for Your grace and mercy that are new to me every morning. You are just! You are robed in strength! You are majestic! You are King! Refresh me with Your power! Fill me with Your Spirit! In Jesus’ name, amen.

“He will turn our mourning into joy!” He really will as we trust Him. Lord, I thank you for the power of your Word that is true. I rejoice that your Word is everlasting–the message is sound and true. I thank You, that you are The Word of God, who is faithful and true! My joy comes from knowing you and the power of Your Word!
Ps 86:15- But You Oh Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering and abundant in mercy and truth. I am so thankful that we serve a God so loving and merciful full of truth. To know that no matter how bad I mess up He promises to never leave me. Thank You Father for keeping me!
