Today’s Tasting: 1 Chronicles Chapters 1-2: Originally, the two books, 1 and 2 Chronicles were written as one book. First and Second Chronicles recount the history of the Jewish people through the reigns of David and his son, Solomon. The chronicler records the genealogies of Israel’s twelve tribes, and God’s faithfulness toward His people. The books emphasize the ancestry of David and Solomon, and describe the kingdom under their leadership.
David planned the construction of a magnificent temple for God where His presence could dwell. The temple was completed and dedicated by Solomon, and during his reign Israel experienced peace on every side.
After Solomon’s death the kingdom became divided, into Israel and Judah. The story gains in momentum in Second Chronicles as the southern kingdom, Judah, is carried away in captivity to Babylon for seventy years before the survivors are finally allowed to return.
Today’s Nourishment: God chronicles our lives also. We have no choice in our heritage or in the place where we are born. However, we have a choice in where we are going in life! Mindsets matter, choices matter. David chose to worship God, and Solomon followed by making the choice to worship the One, True God.
Whatever your background, whatever your heritage, you can make the choice today to worship God, Three in One, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Lord, we worship you. You are the One True God. We worship you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Fill us today to live in your peace and help us leave this heritage for others to follow.
Please feel free to share a few words of worship to the Lord in the comment section below.

I’ve always said its a choice and yes Carolyn choices matter. When we don’t choose to follow Christ and let Him lead our path then our sinful mindset will certainly take us in the wrong direction leading to destruction. Look at the covering David had by making the right choice to worship God. I’m thankful to have The one true God being Lord over m life!
