Day Forty-nine – February 18 – Today’s Tasting – Leviticus 7-8: Moses anointed Aaron and his sons and everything in the Tabernacle. Anointing marked the men, as set apart priests, to carry out the sacrificial offerings, pointing to the coming Christ. Anointing marked the furnishings, as set apart to reveal Christ.
Today’s Nourishment: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power,” Acts 10:38. Anoint – to mark something with oil for healing (to keep you from death) for setting apart (to die to your agenda and live for His) or for embalming (to keep your body intact in death). Anointing, in my eyes, has a lot to do with death. Anointing is the mark that you belong to the Christ (Christos – Anointed One). We are no longer our own, but His.
“And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee,” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 ESV. His Spirit is the down payment to the Father that we belong to Him. We belong to Him, to reveal Jesus.
Thank you Holy Spirit. I live anointed, because you anointed me. I live marked, because you marked me, you placed your seal in me. I live in Christ, because you placed me in Christ. I live to your agenda. I live to mature in the fruit of the Spirit. I live to reveal Christ. I pray that I live today, as if I belong to you. Holy Spirit, what is your agenda? Guide me and show me today. What attitudes may I put on today that belong to you? Show me today.
How do you know that you live anointed?
